Sample Tour: Southwest Cities (14 Days)

Synopsis  |  Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive San Diego
You arrive in "America's Finest City" and have the afternoon and evening to settle in and enjoy San Diego on your own terms.
Day 2: San Diego
There's no better way to spend your first day in Southern California than to get out on the water. Your skipper guides your sailboat around the picturesque San Diego Bay, before dropping you off to enjoy a sunset dinner at a fine bayside restaurant.
Day 3: San Diego - Anaheim
The San Diego Zoo is widely regarded as the best zoo in the world. Spend the full day enjoying the myriad of exotic species in beautiful settings, before driving up the coast to Anaheim, home of Disneyland Resort.
Day 4: Anaheim (Disneyland)
"Happiest Place on Earth". So says the sign at the entrance. Today's your day to enjoy it.
Day 5: Anaheim
Disney completed a huge expansion of Disneyland Resort a couple of years ago with the addition of Disney's California Adventure. A different experience to Disneyland, the exciting park maintains the trademark Disney atmosphere.
Day 6: Anaheim - Catalina Island - Anaheim
Just off the coast of Los Angeles, the island of Catalina offers a remote getaway within sight of the city lights. You hop the ferry to Avalon for a day of snorkeling, boating and an inland tour of this unique island. Sea lions, flying fish, garibaldi and a wild herd of buffalo complement the beautiful beach village setting of Avalon. Evening finds you back in Anaheim.
Day 7: Anaheim - Hollywood / Beverly Hills - Anaheim
Hollywood beckons. Today's classic tour of LA, Hollywood and Beverly Hills includes all of the classic sights and sounds. A final evening in Anaheim allows some rest before traveling to Las Vegas in the morning.
Day 8: Anaheim - Las Vegas, Nevada
Vegas is a playground for adults and families alike. Whether your tastes tend toward games of chance, production shows and world-class dining, or exotic animals, roller coasters and swimming pools are your thing, Vegas will not disappoint. Arriving in the late morning, you have a full day to begin enjoying it.
Day 9: Las Vegas
Las Vegas' close proximity to the Grand Canyon allows you the chance to take a day-trip to one of the world's seven natural wonders. Your outfitter picks you up in the morning for the 1 hour spectacular flightsee over Lake Mead and the Grand Canyon, flying you back to Las Vegas in time for dinner, after a few hours at the spectacular South Rim.
Day 10: Las Vegas
Another day of "Sin City" excitement.
Day 11: Las Vegas - San Francisco
You leave the desert for the "City by the Bay" this morning. The cooler San Francisco environment provides a vibrant location to enjoy the last few days of your trip. You take the afternoon and evening to enjoy the Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39 area, before crossing to Alcatraz Island for the unique atmosphere of the evening tour.
Day 12: San Francisco
Today, you get the grand tour of "the City" via the finest coach tour available. After returning from the tour in the early afternoon, you take the opportunity to enjoy the area around the Presidio and the Palace of Fine Arts.
Day 13: San Francisco
A van picks your party up at your hotel this morning for a full day's excursion to the Wine Country and the old-growth redwoods on the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge at Muir Woods. Returning you to San Francisco in the evening, you enjoy a dinner on the Bay as the sun sets on the final day of your trip.
Day 14: Depart San Francisco
Breakfast in the City before the flight home.
