 Signature Sights and Attractions

Mission Santa Barbara: Originally built in 1820, and known as the "Queen of the Missions," the Mission Santa Barbara presents one of the most attractive examples of California's 21 original Spanish missions.

Santa Barbara County Courthouse: The massive Spanish Colonial Revival was completed in the 1920s. The coastal views from "El Mirador" (the clock tower) are sublime.
The Cannel Islands: Visible just offshore from Santa Barbara, the islands of Anacapa, Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa and San Miguel beckon hikers, scuba divers, sailers and fishing afficionados.
Stearns Wharf: Stearns Wharf has been a prominant feature on California's Central Coast since 1872. Today, it is Santa Barbara's most visitied landmark.
Yacht Harbor: Hub for Santa Barbara's sizeable boating community, the yacht harbor is a pleasant place for a stroll or as a hopping-off point for a trip to the islands.
State Street: Santa Barbara's thriving upscale shopping and dining district.

Taste Wine: Small and charming, with a remote feel, to it, the Santa Ynez Valley became one of California's most famous wine growing regions, when it was featured as the location for the Oscar-winning movie, "Sideways."

Scuba Dive: The extensive kelp forests surrounding the Channel Islands just offshore from Santa Barbara provide a tremendous venue for scuba divers.

Go Horseback Riding: A journey into the Santa Ynez Mountains that border Santa Barbara to the east takes one from the Riviera feel of the city's coast to the classic California terrain of golden hills and giant oak trees. There's no better way to experience this country than on horseback

.Shop: High fashion can be found in State Street's many boutique shops. For bargain hunters, the nearby Camarillo Outlets feature over 160 stores with discount brand-name clothing and other merchandise.

Dine: The dozens of fine dining restaurants that line State Street and the surrounding blocks are the heart a Santa Barbara dining menu that features some of Southern California's most varied and high quality cuisine.

Bicycle: An extensive array of scenic coastal trails makes Santa Barbara a joy for bicyclists.
